Michael Giacchino’s LOST Season 6 soundtrack is now available on and iTunes. The two-CD album includes tracks from the first 13 episodes of the final season and two bonus tracks from the finale, so I wouldn’t be surprised if in the near future Varese Sarabande Records decides to release a new album featuring the score for “The Candidate”, “Across The Sea”, “What The Died For” and “The End”.

Congratulations to LOST editors Stephen Semel, Mark J. Goldman, Christopher Nelson and Henk Van Eeghan for winning this year’s Emmy award for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Drama Series. Sadly, the Emmy voters awarded the music score for “24″ instead of the amazing soundtrack composed by Michael Giacchino for LOST’s final season. Elizabeth Mitchell was snubbed too and did not win the Emmy for Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

UPDATE: it looks like we’re gonna have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on the soundtrack. Giacchino’s score for LOST’s final season is now set to be released on September 14th.

LOST composer Michael Giacchino was invited again this year to Ubeda’s Film Music Festival (click here to watch last year’s performance). This time, the orchestra and chorus conducted by Giachinno performed the score for The End‘s opening and closing scenes.
